About your past

Customer conversations are a big part of this role. Tell me about a time you presented analytics to a customer and their feedback changed your approach.

What they are checking: Whether they genuinely listen to customers and improve their analytics from it, which the posting stresses.

Tell me about how you've led and developed a team of analysts.

What they are checking: Whether they can raise the skill of a team and guide their work, not just do the analysis themselves.

Product and engineering want insights to guide decisions. How have you made analytics actually change a product decision?

What they are checking: Whether their insights lead to action rather than sitting unread in a dashboard.

What would you do

A customer says your usage report is wrong because their clinicians use the product much more than it shows. How do you handle that?

What they are checking: Whether they can investigate data quality calmly and keep customer trust while finding the real answer.

Your team gets more report requests than it can handle from customer success. How do you decide what to build?

What they are checking: Whether they can prioritize and push toward scalable reporting instead of endless one-off requests.

Analytics shows a customer's usage dropped sharply right before renewal. What would you do with that?

About the work

How would you show a health system executive the value they're getting from UpToDate, using usage data?

What they are checking: Whether they can turn raw usage into a value story that speaks to an executive's priorities, not just logins.

How would you define what value means for UpToDate, Lexidrug and Patient Engagement in a way you could measure?

What they are checking: Whether they can translate fuzzy value into concrete metrics across different products and audiences.

How do you design a report that works for both an individual clinician and a health system CEO?

What they are checking: Whether they know how to layer detail and tailor communication for very different audiences.

Which tools and approaches have you used to build analytics at scale, and how do you keep the data reliable?

What they are checking: Whether they have hands-on technical depth to guide analysts and spot weak data before customers do.
