Likely interview questions for this role

Written from this job description, not a generic list. Each one notes what the interviewer is really checking.

About your past

This role leads consumer marketing for a multiple myeloma brand — disease awareness, patient engagement and treatment consideration. What consumer work have you done in oncology?

What they are checking: Whether their consumer marketing experience fits oncology, where patients face serious illness and messages must be handled with real care.

How do you partner with the healthcare professional side of the brand so the two stories fit together?

What they are checking: Whether they coordinate with the professional marketing side so patients and doctors hear a consistent, credible story.

What would you do

Marketing a cancer medicine to patients and caregivers is different from any other category. What is different about it?

What they are checking: Whether they understand how sensitive it is to market cancer treatment to patients and families, which shapes tone and approach.

Caregivers often make or shape decisions here. How do you market to a caregiver without going around the patient?

What they are checking: Whether they can respectfully reach caregivers while keeping the patient at the center, since both shape treatment decisions.

You'd oversee integrated campaigns across digital and social channels. How do you handle a channel where patients talk to each other and to you?

What they are checking: Whether they can manage social channels responsibly in a regulated, emotional disease area where patients share experiences openly.

Direct-to-consumer oncology advertising sits under strict rules on claims and risk information. How do you build a message that works inside them?

What they are checking: Whether they can create effective messages within strict rules on claims and risk information, which apply to every consumer asset.

This is based at Mettawa partnering with the marketing director and brand leadership. What would you want to know about the brand's current consumer performance before you took it?

What they are checking: Whether they ask sensible questions about the brand's consumer results before joining, showing they plan to lead with clear eyes.

About the work

You'd develop patient-centric segmentation, targeting, positioning and messaging. How would you segment a multiple myeloma patient population usefully?

What they are checking: Whether they can segment patients in ways grounded in the actual disease, so messages reach the right people at the right time.

You'd use patient, caregiver and market insight to inform strategy. What research would you commission, and what would you expect it to tell you?

What they are checking: Whether they know how to commission and use research well, so strategy reflects real patient and caregiver needs.

How would you know a disease awareness campaign worked?

What they are checking: Whether they can measure the impact of awareness campaigns meaningfully, which is notoriously hard and essential to justify spend.
