Likely interview questions for this role

Written from this job description, not a generic list. Each one notes what the interviewer is really checking.

About your past

Tell me about requirements you documented that turned out to be wrong. How did you find out?

What they are checking: Honest reckoning with an analyst's most common failure.

The posting says this role performs multiple functions at once — scrum master, stakeholder contact, tooling and business analysis. Which would you expect to take the most time, and what would you need to make that work?

What they are checking: That they read the unusually broad scope and thought about it honestly.

What would you do

You would implement tools the technology team uses including dashboards, documentation and code quality tooling. How do you get a team to actually use a new tool?

What they are checking: Adoption, since internal tooling frequently goes unused.

You are the default point of contact for internal stakeholders where technology itself is the business. How is that different from serving an external business unit?

What they are checking: Whether they understand the unusual framing this posting states.

You would identify alternative solutions and assess feasibility. How do you present options to a stakeholder who has already decided what they want?

What they are checking: Reopening a decision without antagonizing the person who made it.

A pod is consistently missing its commitments. How do you approach it as scrum master?

What they are checking: Facilitating a team problem without authority over it.

About the work

This role acts as scrum master for a multi-pod agile team, coordinating cadence and escalations across pods. What breaks first when several pods depend on each other?

What they are checking: Real multi-team agile experience rather than ceremony knowledge.

You would elicit, analyze and document business requirements. How do you tell what someone needs from what they asked for?

What they are checking: The core analyst skill, stated in the duties.

You would translate business requirements into functional requirements and perform data and process modeling. Walk me through modeling a process you have just been told about.

What they are checking: Method for turning a conversation into a model.

You would lead and coordinate testing. What does good user acceptance testing look like, and who should do it?

What they are checking: Testing ownership, which is often pushed onto the wrong people.
