Likely interview questions for this role

Written from this job description, not a generic list. Each one notes what the interviewer is really checking.

About your past

Tell me about your experience reading wiring diagrams or panel drawings and building from them.

What they are checking: Whether they can read engineering documents well enough to build panels without someone checking every step.

Tell me about a time you helped train a newer coworker.

What they are checking: Whether they can explain their work patiently, since the job includes helping train others.

Tell me about a mistake you made on a build and how you handled it.

What they are checking: Whether they own errors and fill out reject tickets honestly instead of hiding problems.

What would you do

You notice the drawing does not match the parts you were given. What do you do?

What they are checking: Whether they stop and raise the mismatch instead of guessing, since a wrong build is costly to fix.

Your build is behind and a coworker asks for help with theirs. How do you decide what to do?

What they are checking: Whether they think about overall production targets and talk to their lead rather than choosing alone.

About the work

Walk me through how you route, cut, strip, crimp and terminate a wire to a drawing.

What they are checking: Whether they know the steps and quality checks that make a termination reliable, like strip length and a proper crimp.

How do you mount a component when the panel needs drilling and tapping?

What they are checking: Whether they can select the right hardware and safely drill, tap and punch, as the posting lists.

How do you label and bundle wires so the panel is easy to test and service later?

What they are checking: Whether they see neat, labeled wiring as part of quality and something that helps the next person.

How comfortable are you using a computer on the shop floor to check schedules and update job status?

What they are checking: Whether they can keep the manufacturing system accurate, which planners depend on.

What safety rules matter most to you when you use machinery on the shop floor?

What they are checking: Whether they have safe habits around cutting and drilling equipment, not just a general promise to be careful.
