Likely interview questions for this role

Written from this job description, not a generic list. Each one notes what the interviewer is really checking.

About your past

Tell me about a technology roadmap you built. What got cut, and who was unhappy about it?

What they are checking: Whether prioritization meant real tradeoffs with named stakeholders.

Describe how you keep an architecture vision alive across a multi-year delivery when the people delivering it change.

What they are checking: Durability of direction, not just the initial design.

Tell me about a time you communicated a technology strategy to a non-technical audience. What did you leave out on purpose?

What they are checking: Editing for an audience, which the posting names as developing and communicating a clear vision.

This is a senior individual architect role in North Chicago inside a regulated pharmaceutical environment. What do you want to know about how validated change control affects how fast you can actually move?

What they are checking: Whether they anticipate the regulatory drag on delivery in this industry.

What would you do

How do you run a maturity assessment with solution architects who each believe their own area is further along than it is?

What they are checking: Getting honest input when the assessment reflects on the assessors.

A business leader wants a new tool they have already picked. Your architecture says it duplicates something you have. How do you handle it?

What they are checking: Holding an architecture position against a sponsor with a preference.

About the work

This covers demand, supply, procurement and distribution as one value stream. Where do you usually find the worst technology gap across those four?

What they are checking: Real familiarity with the end-to-end supply chain landscape rather than one module.

Walk me through how you build a business capability model and how you keep it from becoming a document nobody opens.

What they are checking: Practical use of a capability model, which this posting makes a core duty.

How do you justify an investment in supply chain technology when the payoff is two years out and the finance conversation is about this year?

What they are checking: Making a capability case in financial terms, which the posting ties to prioritizing investment.

What does good look like when a procurement system and a planning system have to agree on the same supplier data?

What they are checking: Master data thinking at the seam between systems, where supply chain IT usually breaks.
