How do you work with nurses and child life staff so your activities don't get in the way of care?

Tell me about a time an activity did not go as planned. What did you change?

What they are checking: Whether they adapt calmly when things go wrong in front of patients.

How would you plan an activity that works for a toddler, a school-age child and a teen on the same unit?

What they are checking: Whether they understand age-specific development, which the posting names directly.

What they are checking: Whether they read emotional needs and respond with something meaningful for that family.

How would you decide whether a new volunteer role is worth creating?

What they are checking: Whether they think about real patient benefit and the support volunteers need, not just adding roles.

About the work

How would you train a new volunteer to interact with a seriously ill child and their family?

What they are checking: Whether they know the boundaries and sensitivity needed in a pediatric medical setting.
