Likely interview questions for this role

Written from this job description, not a generic list. Each one notes what the interviewer is really checking.

About your past

Why supply chain, and why in the pharmaceutical industry?

What they are checking: Genuine interest and a basic sense of what makes pharma supply chains different.

Tell me about a time you used data to find a problem or a better way of doing something.

What they are checking: Whether they can turn numbers into a clear, useful recommendation, because supply chain decisions here depend on reading data well.

Tell me about a team project where you did not agree with the direction. What did you do?

What they are checking: Whether they can disagree respectfully and still help the team move forward, which matters in a large, collaborative company like AbbVie.

Tell me about something you learned quickly because you had to.

What they are checking: Whether they pick up new things fast and accept coaching, since an eleven-week internship rewards people who learn quickly.

What does it mean to you that a delay in a medicine's supply chain can affect a patient?

What they are checking: Whether they understand that supply chain work ultimately reaches patients, which shapes how carefully and urgently the team works.

What would you do

If inventory for a product is running low in one region and high in another, what questions would you ask first?

What they are checking: Whether they think in a structured way about supply, demand and movement of product, which is the core logic of supply chain work.

Your mentor gives you a project with a vague goal. How do you get started?

What they are checking: Whether they can handle an unclear assignment by asking good questions, because real projects rarely come with a neat, finished brief.

At the end of 11 weeks you present to leaders. How would you make sure your findings land?

What they are checking: Whether they can present findings clearly to busy leaders, because an internship is often judged by its final presentation.

About the work

What tools have you used to analyze data, like Excel, Power BI or Python? Walk me through something you built.

What they are checking: Whether they have hands-on skill with common analysis tools, since interns are expected to build real analyses rather than watch others.

Explain the difference between supply planning and demand planning in your own words.

What they are checking: Whether they understand the basic building blocks of supply chain planning, so mentors can spend time on harder problems with them.
